Sun tea is a delicious part of summer but many people drink it all year long. There are lots of great ways to jazz it up and you can have it anywhere at any time.
Start with a clean mason type jar and a secure lid. Put your favorite herbal tea or brand of tea into the jar and fill it with clean pure water. You can then add any of the following into your tea as it brews or after it has brewed.
For raspberry tea choose an herbal tea that is a berry or raspberry type tea. Add in one cup of fresh raspberries to the final product. Many like to add in another cup of raspberries just prior to serving.
Honey lemon tea is another excellent choice. Instead of using sugar to sweeten the tea, use honey and blend well. Add in fresh lemon slices just before serving and you’ll have a delicious mix.
Melon Tea is a unique taste treat. Watermelon, honeydew melon or any other melon make excellent tea. Again, start with your favorite herbal tea. Just prior to serving add in some fresh melon balls and a sprig of mint.
Cucumber tea is another unique taste treat. Choose a light flavored herbal tea for this one. Set up your mason jar with fresh water and your favorite light herbal tea. After the tea is brewed peel and slice a cucumber into coins. Put several slices of cucumber into your glass of ice and gently pour your light herbal tea over the cucumber slices.
Spiced tea is also delicious. Put a cinnamon stick and a pinch (small pinch) of cloves into your herbal tea and allow to steep in the sun. Strain the tea and serve over ice. You can sweeten it with sugar or honey if desired.
