Your pets have as much fun camping as you do and we want to make sure they do. There are a couple of things you can do to make the trip a success from the get-go and we’ll share what we’ve learned along the way.
Keep Them Near You
The new environment can be intimidating for a shy or nervous pet. There are new smells, unfamiliar voices, and other animals that could make them uncomfortable. Help them get to know the area around your campsite and even the campground, if they are willing. It will help to familiarize them with their new camping home and help them to relax.
Bring Vet Records and Medications
Just in case of an emergency, be sure to bring your pet’s records along with you. If you need to see a Vet that isn’t familiar with their history, those records can save a lot of time and reduce errors. If they need medication, bring plenty along to last during your stay. Bring extra, in fact, just in case you get waylaid while trying to get home.
Have Their Favorites On Hand
They like to have their own bed and toys around them so bring them along with you. It will help to make them feel at home from the very beginning. The familiar smells and comforts of these items will keep your pet happy and you happy as well.
Put A Sign On Your Door
Your friends might not remember that you have a pet inside your rig and could accidentally allow them to escape through an open door. Reminding others that your pet is inside will save you and your pet from the scary moments after your little loved one dashes away into the campground.
Planning ahead can make for a great vacation and that is our goal for you and your pet. Call us if you haven’t made your reservation yet. We can’t wait to meet you and your pet.
