It’s all about the wings when you’re visiting New York and we have a few recipes you might like to try for making your own. It’s easy to do – even when you’re camping. The whole family will love you for it and you’re sure to make these again after you return home.
Steve’s Bourbon Buffalo Wing Sauce
This is a sticky-gooey, Bourbon laced sauce that you just HAVE to try. Once you cook your wings (according to their directions) coat them in this dark, rich, Bourbon sauce for a new wings addiction. You’ll need Bourbon, brown sugar, ketchup, white vinegar, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, some honey, and butter. You’ll be cooking these ingredients down and letting them perc for a bit, so the flavors will meld. Then you brush it on the wings and dig in. You can see the recipe at Allrecipe’s New York Buffalo Wings
Spicy Orange Wing Sauce
This Asian inspired dish will be better than take-out. You can make it right from your campsite and get the whole group fed with smiles on their faces. You’ll need some orange marmalade, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and chile pepper. Cook them together just until small bubbles begin to form around the pan. Then take them off the burner and prepare to be the favorite of the camping potluck. You can see the recipe at Allrecipe’s New York Orange Wings
Gold Fever Wing Sauce
This is a hot and spicy, honey mustard sauce that will tempt your pallete for just another wing – or two. You’ll combine honey mustard, cayenne pepper, unsalted butter, and some salt & pepper. Dunk your wing and drum combination in this for a family favorite from this day forward. You can see the recipe at Allrecipes Gold Fever Wings
Campers like to eat well when they are enjoying their time away from work and home so we thought these recipes would be a good start. You’ll get a little taste of New York and a lot of smiles from your guests. If you haven’t made your reservation yet, give us a call. We look forward to meeting you.
